Today marks the launch of a whole new chapter for the store. For over 15 years, we've sold TCG singles, but they have never, ever been properly inventoried or digitally browse-able! After a lot of thought, planning, and consideration, we've finally settled on a new platform that will be completely transformative. The new site is live and usable today, but there will likely be many, many revisions and improvements in the weeks to come. Here's what's new and what you can expect soon:
Starting today, our Star Wars: Unlimited and Disney: Lorcana singles are fully inventoried and available to view here on the site, along with sealed product for both Magic: the Gathering and the aforementioned games. Not only can you browse and purchase directly through the site, but you can also view our buylist for all three games (incomplete for Magic) and submit a sell cart for review!
Our events calendar remains as robust as ever, but is now also capable of taking registrations for our recurring events. This should be a huge quality of life improvement, and could help improve attendances, since customers should be able to see how many people are already registered for any given event.
Part of the reason for our switch was also stability. Our new host is a huge and well-known ecommerce platform, that offers unlimited storage and bandwidth, which will allow us to maintain a massive online inventory without worrying about lagging response times. It should also mean that timed releases and registrations won't get overwhelmed by a sudden spike in site usage, leading to a more stable user experience all-around.
What we don't yet have implemented is any of the rest of our catalog, but we are diligently working to incorporate the huge variety of board games, roleplaying games, miniatures games, toys, and accessories we carry. Look forward to seeing our full stock available on the site within a few months, with little chunks popping up pretty regularly.
We're also still in search of a replacement store credit option that will allow us to re-implement that functionality on the website, but--for now--store credit won't be available online.
Also in development are a number of functionality improvements. Look forward to the return of pay-upon-release preorders soon, followed by automated implementations of our membership and subscription programs, and an option to have us hold and combine orders until they reach a desired threshold before shipping.
In any event, we're excited about the changes! Please bear with us while we clean up the look of the site, and repair all the minor bugs.
