Card Sorting
We are now offering machine-sorting for small collections of cards from the following games:
Disney Lorcana
Magic: the Gathering
One Piece
Pokémon
This service is currently experimental, with details subject to change frequently while we fine-tune the process. We are currently not guaranteeing any particular turn-around time while we evaluate demand and the potential for backlog, but should be able to begin providing that sort of information within a few weeks. We're also looking to quickly implement an online submission form for collections, but are currently taking collections in-person only, including a short intake form, and paid up front.
The Basics
Bring in up to 5000 cards at a time, from a single game (chosen from those listed above). All of them must be unsleeved and stored upright in appropriate storage boxes, designed for cards. We can sort them by up to three criteria, using the following pricing for approximately every thousand cards (to a minimum of $25).
1st Sorting Criteria |
2nd Sorting Criteria +$10 |
3rd Sorting Criteria +$10 |
Regardless of sort options chosen, you will receive a comprehensive CSV documenting the cards in your collection, along with their current (at time of sorting) TCGplayer low pricing.
Additionally, for no extra charge, you can choose either a maximum or minimum price point to have us sort out all cards in excess of that, separating them (unsorted) from the rest of the collection.
Sorting Criteria
You must choose at least one of the below sorting criteria (even if all you really want is the CSV), but may choose up to three (at an additional charge for each). Your first choice will be the master sorting criteria, with each subsequent choice nested within the former. For example, if you chose Colour first and Rarity second, you would receive your collection sorted into the various colours available for the game, with the cards within each colour separated by their rarity. Cards will not be alphabetized or otherwise sorted in any way other than the specified criteria, which means multiple copies of the same card won't necessarily be clustered together either. For example, if we sort 8 Blood Moons, they will all show up in the Red section, the Enchantment section, and the Rare section (as appropriate), but they may not all be next to one another.
Colour / Ink / Type
Selecting this option will mean we sort your collection into groupings divided by colour (for Magic and One Piece), ink (for Lorcana), or type (for Pokémon). Multicolour cards will be sorted together as an effective additional colour, with no additional grouping within that category (for instance, Red/White cards won't all be grouped together within the Multicolour group).
Card Type
Selecting this option will mean we sort your collection into groupings divided by card type. For Magic, multi-type cards will be sorted under the type that appears earliest in this list: Token, Land (Snow), Land (Basic), Land (other), Planeswalker, Creature, Artifact, Enchantment, Instant, Sorcery.
Price Range
Selecting this option will mean we sort your collection into the following groupings, by TCGplayer low value: under $1, $1-1.99, $2-2.99, $3-3.99, $4-4.99, $5-9.99, $10-19.99, $20-49.99, $50-99.99, and over $100.
Rarity
Selecting this option will mean we sort your collection into groupings divided by rarity.
Bundle
Looking to save a little money on your sort? Drop off approximately 5000 cards, and we'll sort your cards with two sorting criteria for only $100!
Disclaimer
We are using the Phyzbatch-9000 to sort your cards. It's around 98% accurate, but up to 2% of cards could be misidentified and incorrectly sorted. It's also incredibly gentle on cards, but is still a machine and has the potential to jam. During a jam, it's not impossible it might damage one or more cards. We require a waiver to be signed as part of this service, absolving the shop and its employees of any liability for any incidental damage to cards caused by this process. We have sorted hundreds of thousands of cards so far, though, and damaged fewer than 10.
Redcap's Grading Guide

Near Mint (NM)'
Near Mint condition cards show minimal or no wear from play or handling and will have an unmarked surface, crisp corners, and otherwise pristine edges outside of minimal handling. Near Mint condition cards appear 'fresh out of the pack,' with edges and surfaces virtually free from all flaws. '
'
Lightly Played (LP)'
Lightly Played condition cards can have slight border or corner wear, or possibly minor scratches. No major defects are present, and there are less than 4 total flaws on the card. Lightly Played condition foils may have slight fading or indications of wear on the card face. '
'
Moderately Played (MP)'
Moderately Played condition cards have moderate wear, or flaws apparent to the naked eye. Moderately Played condition cards can show moderate border wear, mild corner wear, water damage, scratches , creases or fading, light dirt buildup, or any combination of these defects. '
'
Heavily Played (HP)'
Heavily Played condition cards exhibit signs of heavy wear. Heavily Played condition cards may include cards that have significant creasing, folding, severe water damage, heavy whitening, heavy border wear, and /or tearing. '
'
Damaged (D)'
Damaged condition cards show obvious tears, bends, or creases that could make the card illegal for tournament play, even when sleeved. Damaged condition cards have massive border wear, possible writing or major inking (ex. white-bordered cards with black-markered front borders), massive corner wear, prevalent scratching, folds, creases or tears.
